these should just be worth face value honestly....no precious metal in them

If you like it then buy it. But I will warn you that the secondary market for these sets are very slim. My local coin dealer tends to pay face for these sets. They just arent as popular as when they first came out.

The only State & Territory quarters that were struck in silver were proof coins struck at the San Francisco Mint. These do not look like proof coins. I would ask the seller to confirm if they have an "S" mintmark, but you should also bear in mind that clad proofs were also struck in SF. The easiest way to tell the difference between a silver proof and a clad proof is to look at the edge. If they are silver, they are only worth melt value because the gilt has ruined the collector value.

Coins like these were hawked by the TV shysters year after year, and the suckers who fell for them lost their patootie.

    I'd pass on them.

ok, are people on ebay just trying to get their money back on them or are they trying to make a fortune?

Yes trying to get some or all their money back is a good assumption.

If they aren't silver issues then they are worth face value.

I haven't seen these before. I think they're a tremendous improvement on the original product, even if they're only worth face.
