I need some help identifying this coin. I think it could be Iran? I have no idea to be honest someone else told be Saudi Arabian
It's from India. I think this may be a match --- or very close: http://www.columbia.edu/itc/mealac/..._1699/calcutta/coinscompany/coinscompany.html
I'm spotting some very similar coins while fishing around the Web, all listed as of the Bengal Presidency. Images I see suggest your reverse is upside-down. See: https://aliqizalbash.wordpress.com/...-ah1759-1806-ad-1-pice-1210-ah-1796-ad-km-53/ http://www.ebay.com/itm/BENGAL-PRESIDENCY-SIKKA-ONE-PIE-EX-RARE-COIN-W-61-/310887705256
Thank you for the Columbia link, just sheer luck but one of the coins illustrated (Bengal Presidency, 3rd coin from the top) just happens to be the host coin of a counter-stamped Nejd (Saudi Arabia) Rupee that I have been trying to identify. Pretty sure it's the oldest host coin with a Nejd counter stamp anywhere, -will be headed to NGC shortly for attribution.
