I like having $20 s for everyday use but often need large sums of cash I use $100s but wish they still made $500 and $1000 bills especially as $100 doesn't buy a lot anymore I can't fill the fuel tank on my truck for $100 and usually my cc shuts off at $100 too at the pump a pain as diesel is $4.20-30 here if I need to go somewhere with $5-10k or more the roll of c-notes gets kinda bulky my vote bring back the big bills!!
i agree. sometimes i carry $500-$1000 in hundreds for CRH and it would be much more convenient to have a $500 note or even a couple $200/$250 notes. especially since the new hundreds can be seen from a mile away...
We probably will never see the $500 or $1,000 printed again due to the money launderers and the drug cartels. Those denominations are needed in our current economy more so than when they were actually in circulation. The dollar bill should be retired. Those that say the dollar coins won't circulate will be proven wrong as people will adjust. They may not like it but, if there is no alternative they will use them. I carry halves, dollar coins, two's, five's, ten's and twenty's for weekday use. For the weekends I add some fifty's and hundreds when I go to the flea market. I never know what I might find to buy.
The biggest problem now is everyone wants you to use plastic. Me I write checks for nearly all major purchases for my business everyone knows me and is a record for my books. Not everyone outside my business such as the coin world or the general public knows my checks are good tho. This is why I often use cash. I'd like the big bills back for this as to the $1 bill I greatly prefer it to the dollar coin and a $2 will get you smart *** comments in Maine as the only place that regularly hands them out is the strip club
