Hey guys, Just wondering what you think this would grade. It looks real nice in person but the scanner on my printer hates me. Just keep in mind it has mint state red luster, and im pretty sure it has all the stairs on the reverse in tact. thanks, Jason
Pictures are pretty small and grainy...it looks MS but I think trying to be more specific than that would require better images of the coin.
As I said my scanner hates me... im probably just gonna send it in at the Baltimore coin show. Maybe ill get lucky! I was looking in my coin grading book and its better than a ms67 according to the pictures
Unless it is just your scanner, I see quite a few dings on both the obverse and reverse that I would think keep it from 67. Take a look here and compare your coin. I know it only shows wheat cents, but the details, luster, and lack of hits should give you a better idea of what you think it might grade. http://www.pcgs.com/photograde/#/Lincoln/Grades
Agreed...I see several dings, especially on the obverse. Based on what I see, the coin may very well be MS...but I doubt it's MS67.
I think what you may be referring to is part of the design. http://www.coinlink.com/News/wp-content/uploads/2010/05/1959-D_goldberg_obv.jpg
Thank you all for responding... the scanner gives this coin no where near the grade it is. The only scratches/goughes are, there is one little 2 cm scatch at 2 oclock. And the ones on his shirt but its ment to be there. Maybe ill talk picture with regular camera but itll probably be worse
