What do you feel are the top ten cent errors/varieties based on value? I am curious to see if everyones list is the same.

Since the value of, both, errors and varieties are dependant upon how many people want them at any given time, I don't think you'll get much of a consensus of opinion on any one coin.

I'm putting in my vote for the 1968 and 1975 no S proofs for the Roosevelt Dimes. 1945 micro S, 1928 large and small S and 1934 large and small D for the Mercury Dimes. You could also find a "broken nose" Mercury Dime (which I still really want by the way). As for the Barbers I believe there is a 1905 micro O and a 1901 horizontal O. That would be my list.

Maybe I misunderstood the post, maybe others did. Is the question:

#1) What are the top 10C errors?

    -or-

#2) What are the top ten 1C errors?

    Slight difference :)

    I can do a top 5
    1 1793 strawberry leaf
    2 1795 reeded edge
    3 1795 Jefferson head
    4 1794 starred reverse
    5 1796 no stems reverse
For later (small) cents the top 3 I can think of are
    1 1955 double die
    2 1922 plain
    3 1972 double die
I didn't count the vdb type as I consider it a seperate type rather than a variety or error

Thanks for the replies so far everyone. I did mean 10 top 1 cent errors/varieties (most specifically small cents, but I like the thoughts on large cents as well). Sorry about that, I didn't make that very clear. Thank you for the information though Dime Guy, it is definitely something I will be able to use.

Errors are tough, because each one is unique in its own way.

As for varieties, no one has mentioned the 1873 Doubled liberty Indian head cent (in high grade) as a top variety.
