Hello, cointalk! I am a new coin hunter and rather new to coin collecting. Recently, while looking through a hand full of change to see if I got lucky and could find a wheat penny or silver nickel I came across two odd coins. A 1994 Jefferson P nickel that was so shiny I thought it was a silver war nickel at first. The other was a Connecticut 1999 quarter in a bizarre brown and silver color. I have attached some pictures, some came out blurry so i'll try to get more tomorrow but what are your thoughts? did I find anything nice or is there another explanation for their odd appearances? Thanks for your help
Welcome to the neighborhood, Tyler! I'll withhold my comments until you can post clearer photos. Do you have a tripod or copy stand? It can help you take clearer photos. Chris PS. It's not good to hold coins with the fields between your fingers. Your skin contains oils that can damage the coins. Hold them by the rim between your fingers to minimize the transfer of those oils.
I could throw a table full of "Odd" from state Quarters, 2% very cool 98% bunk. 6.25 silver to 5.67 g. clad, I've got this one in 5.82 no clad showing
Oops. Thanks for the tips i'll remember that for next time! Here are some more pictures. I tried my best to get a clearer shot. I never imagined how difficult getting a picture of a coin could be lol.
