I found a Canadian one cent today with Elezabeth on the obverse, and on the reverse it has 1 cent at the top and 1867-1967 at the bottom sorry not sure of what type of bird is in the center of the coin. Looks like it might be a sea gull info on this coin please and KM # number if you have it thanks. Bruce.
According to the Charlton Catalog of Canadian Coins, that's a rock dove gracing the Canadian Confederation centennial cent, with a mintage of 345,140,645 in 3.24g .980 copper. MS values are listed at Can$1-40. KM# 65 in the 2007 Krause catalog. The MS values are only US10-20¢, and $1 for the proof.
Bruce, all the coins that were issued by Canada in 1967 were issued to commemorate the Centenary of the Dominion of Canada, including a $20 gold medal-coin (which is a commemorative, despite not having the double dates). Aidan.
These are the canada 100 year commeratives. Each of the coins have a different animal on them. I have found a lot of the pennies in circulated rolls but the other demoninations are pretty hard to find in circulation.
