I recently got this off of eBay. This is a 1939 double Monticello, it it appears that the seller polished it. Second opinions? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
Why do you believe the seller polished it? Is it not possible that he acquired it that way as simply resold as-is? As for damage, there appears to be a sizable dig at the top of Jefferson's head, and possibly some rim issues below Monticello, which would be beyond any cleaning/polishing issues, but please understand it is hard to gauge the coin with such poor photos. Any value above face that this coin has would be due to the variety, yet from the photos, it is impossible to identify it as such. If you're sure it is the claimed variety, that's fine, but if you want anything more than shot-in-the-dark second opinions, better photos are necessary.
