I have been searching for a nice trade dollar among other things (much to the chagrin of many here ;-)) There is the Baltimore Coin Expo at the end of March, the Lancaster Coin Show on April 5th, York on April 12th, and Hershey on May 3rd. Other than the Baltimore show, I don't suppose the others will be known to anyone outside of this area. Baltimore is the furthest (1.5 hrs), but it looks like the biggest. If I'm looking for trade dollars, maybe a nice Peace or Morgan, and a few early Lincolns, I should find them at the Baltimore show, right? I see that Tom B will be there, among many others from here. If Baltimore is a good show to attend, any recommendations on sellers to check out or avoid? Any thoughts on the smaller (1-day) shows? I've been reading the threads on coin show etiquette quite a bit. Thanks.
If it were me, I'd go to the Baltimore Show. It's one of the larger shows in the country. There should be any kind of coin your heart desires at the show.
Definitely go to Baltimore Doug. It's well worth the drive because of its size and variety of dealers who set up there. I've been to many Baltimore shows and have never come home disappointed. Good luck! Bruce
I really feel like when you finally do buy a trade dollar, you are going to tape it to the wall and stare at it ALL day long.
