Hi i am inquiring about a coin i found awhile ago. I found this in a roll. it is a 1904 indian head cent that looks like the indian was shot. oes anyone know anything about it or how much it might be worth? thank you for your time.
That mark in the middle as well as the ding on the rim is considered damage to the coin. It happened well after the coin was made and hurts the value. A 1904 Indian Head Cent is pretty common and in this condition is probably worth less than $1.
It appears to have been intentional damage. Note how both "N's" of ONE CENT are mashed on the reverse. This suggests a "hammer job". Chris
Here is a shot coin, It is a faux wild west show coin. Real ones with proof are worth money but they are generally larger coins than pennies. Fifty cent, quarters and large pennies in England when the shows were there.
