So I informed my mom of my new found hobby the last time I was with my parents and she found these in her closet. What do you guys think these could be worth if anything. 2x 1943 steel cents 1964 quarter 1930S buf - marked as VF by whomever they bought it from 34D -37D buff 35 Morgan 5 Dollar series 1963 US Note So I wouldn't imagine anything here is special. Quarter is just melt for sure. Main Question is for the Morgan. It is Extremely dirty, but in good condition otherwise. I think I want to clean it in some water and baking soda just to get the tarnish off maybe. What does everyone think
DON'T EVER clean silver coins with baking soda! Even though that dollar looks like it's been cleaned before, and it's probably damaged from being used in jewelry, you'll guarantee that you're destroying its collectible value if you clean it. Isn't it always fun to see coins come out of the woodwork?
I've only ever cleaned stirling silver that way. I am going to take it out of the Jewelry though. If it doesn't have any Numismatic Value I'd like to clean it someway to make it nice and look good in my silver stack
I like the Peace dollar(It's not a Morgan). That being said, it is most likely damaged since it is in that holder.
Being that the Peace Dollar is Damaged on the edges and tarnished to all get out its probably only worth melt. Whats the best way to clean it up a bit without destroying it
the coins look very damaged. I like the... 5 Dollar series 1963 US Note red seal best. I would NOT clean any of the coins.... you will kill half and maybe more of there value.
Cool thanks for the input. I just put all the loose coins in 2x2's and took the peace dollar out of the jewelry and into a 2x2.
upon closer inspection of your red seal 5 dollar bill looks like another bill underneath it. was the another bill under it ? I also like the 1964 silver quarter.
