I asked the other one to be deleted, I tried to fix the photo so it wasnt so purple. Lucilla (164 - 182 A.D.) Æ Sestertius O: LVCILLA AVG ANTONINI AVG F, draped bust righ R: VENVS S-C, Venus standing left holding apple & scepte. Rome 22.8g 30mm RIC 1763, Cohen 72, BMC 1167
Awesome new purchase, Mat (another Betty for Barbie's Dreamhouse!!) => I "love" your collection and your coin-theme (great form, brother!!) Ummm, I have a Lucilla as well (not quite as sweet as your new catch, but a similar type o' chick-coin) LUCILLA – SESTERTIUS 148-182 AD Diameter: 30 mm Weight: 25.9 grams Obverse: LVCILLA AVGVSTA draped, diademed bust right Reverse: IVNO / S-C Juno standing left with sceptre, peacock in front
I don't have a bronze yet, but i do have a silver... Lucilla.. Ar Denarius Obv. draped bust right. Rev. Concordia enthroned left. 18mm x 3.28 g.
Nice, and I dont have that type as far as the shorter legend on the obverse and the concordia reverse. I Have the more common longer legend obverse. I just didnt feel the need to add this type to my set. It would just mean more $ going out. Now if it was under $30, I would easily.
I browsed for information on the coin I have some doubts about and found this thread. I have similar coin as OP, but sizes puzzle me and make me wonder if its genuine. It weighs 13.82grams Width is 22mm Height is 24mm Diagonal is 25mm It is in far worse shape than OPs coin, but still... Help appreciated Thanks
Nice coin, @Mat . Lucilla looks a little more ... umm ... matronly than on other issues. Here's a Lucilla with Venus sestertius from my collection.
I have a couple Lucillas to toss in: RI Lucilla 164-182 CE AR Denarius 18mm 2.8g Rome mint 166-169 CE Pudicitia RIC III 780 RI Lucilla AR denarius Juno seated flower child in swaddling clothes Seaby 36
