What is the difference between a BLUE LABEL and a BLACK LABEL on the 2006 SAE (W Minted)??? I'd think it has to mean something, in looking at these the seller point this out like its a selling point... What the diif??? Also, what the story on the 2000 Millenium Edition Set SAE??? Playing with NGCs registry thing, then looking on e-bay and a few other sites is whats promped the questions...
Can't swear to it, but I think the black means the coin was part of the 3 coin sets, blue is the single version. In 2000 there were 75,000 Sackies and Unc ASEs issued in the Millenium sets. The Sackies were burnished, and the set paperwork stipulated that the ASEs were struck at the W mint. But, there was no W mint mark on the coins. But at the time, this was considered to make these ASEs "special". So, if the sets were submitted complete, the ASE was slabbed as a Millenium Edition. At first, ICG was the only one to do this. Later, NGC and PCGS realized they were missing out on some more business, so then they got into the game. But by then, there were hardly any sets left, at least in the hands of folks who wanted to submit them. So NGC and PCGS began accepting slabbed ICG coins and doing cross-overs. This was the very beginning of all this "special" slab stuff.
So which would be more preferable a Blue or Black label??? I'd think the Blue, but I dunno, feels like a gamble..
