has anyone ever seen this

    I got a presidential dollar out of a machine at work and its silver prob not nothing special but figure I'd ask

    Looks like it was plated by someone probably the person who's initials are also present on the coin.

    Any chance you could weigh it? Blisskr is most likely correct... But I have seen some test pieces from the mint that this vaguely reminds me of...

    check it it's plated then if not the send a picture heritage auctions and stacks bowers see what they saw and also go to your local coin dealer and see what he'll say

    No I don't have a coin scale wish I did and how do you check if its plated

    Ordered me a coin scale when it shows up I'll weigh them and see what happens I'm not lucky enough to find anything rare so I'm sure its prob plated lol

    Cant tell via the picture if its plated, but it's certainly been defaced by what looks like a dremel/engraving type tool. Not sure why someone would bother to plate a common dollar in the first place...

    I'm not sure either but all the words on the side are perfectly readable and I don't see no bubbles or anything but the weight are exactly the same so I'm not sure and I guess the DB stands for dumb butt or Dbag lol

    Someone earlier mentioned the possibility of it being a Mint test piece. Is it possible they could have engraved it to mark it as such?

    Still there should be some weight difference.
