I don't know how I'm going to curb my roll searching addiction if I keep finding cool coins. This 1909p (vdb?) cent was found in a customer deposit bank roll last night. I have a "weathered" collection going and I think this little artistic piece is beautiful. The corrison is so deep on it that I don't want to touch it to see if there is a vdb under it or not. KEEP SEARCHING PEOPLE!!! THERE IS A LOT OF STUFF OUT THERE!!! $40 lot including: 30 wheats - 09,18,2-36,2-37,39,40-58 Over polished 2000 die cent. I think it was a good die clash in the lower bust/date area 11 Canadians 7 Memorial S mints 5 - 2009p 2 dimes
That 09 is crusty! I don't see any signs of a "VDB" so my guess is that is a normal 09. I like the greaser too.
The oldest penny I've found in circulation is a 1910. I believe it was a Philadelphia no mintmark coin. A 1909-S VDB is on my circulation bucket list. Congrats on your find. Finding neat coins in circulation (coins in rolls are considered coins in circulation to me) is quite a rush.
It's hard to see the VDB on some circulated pennies. I have one that you can barely see with a magnifying glass.
