I'm looking to start my Mercury Dime set as I sold my last one and this one I'm looking to get the keys in better than the AG/G I had in my previous set.

    Has this been cleaned?

    I'm thinking VF-30

    What are your thoughts?

It looks ok from what i can see...unless i had it in hand to really see. Looks struck off center tho...nice!

VF looks about right, as for cleaning I don't see anything crazy in the pics, but the only thing bothering me is the cuts in the rim that go into the R in Liberty.

Do you think that'd make it a details coin?

that depends where you send it... its not on the face or anything so it might not but then again it might be distracting enough

I don't know why but that rim cut was the first thing I saw. I like the coin overall and doubt that will hurt it, but it's the only thing I see. That's stupid but things catch your eye and then you just stare at them.

The cuts on the rim, one of which extends into the "R", might be just enough to warrant a DETAILS grade. It's a toss-up to me.

Chris has a very good point that rim damage could hurt what type of grade and details Ngc or Pcgs would grade it

It looks like the coin was struck a little off center ?

I agree VF-25-30, can't tell lf it's cleaned but does that little rim ding make it a Details coin? If so, I own a whole lot of problem coins.
