How do you guys feel about this set? Are you collecting them? Do you think they will ever have any potential to be worth more than face value? I've found quite a few and all are in very, very nice condition. Wanted your thoughts.
I have Fort McHenry, Gettysburg, Perry's Victory, White Mountain, Chickasaw, Hawaii Volcanoes, Denali (An S mint as well), Great Basin, and Glacier.
I think many are quite artistic and beautiful, so yes, I'm collecting. Will they appreciate in value...doubt it.
I haven't been collecting them. I did the state quarters, but I haven't with these. I think I just lost interest in modern circulating types because they have SO many now...with the ATB quarters and the Presidential Dollars and such. Just too much for me. I long for simpler times.

Heck yes I collect them, some beautiful designs. Very low mintages for some, so the fewer that collect them now, the better.
I have an album for them and I like them a lot more than the state quarters. Some of them have some really nice designs. No, I don't think they will ever increase in value. Millions have been minted and the mint offers bu bags and rolls of them for sale. Therefore nice bu examples will never be scarce.
Buy the S-Mint rolls/bags from the mint, made only for collectors - very low mintage compared to the P's & D's made for circulation.
I considered it, but still think there will be too many in very high grade. As you stated: "made only for collectors". That means they are being stored by the truckload and will remain BU for a long, long time. I just like to collect them for my folder cause it gives me a something to do. It's like a hunt. That's what makes these particular coins enjoyable to me. Otherwise getting change back from a cashier would just be something boring.
Yeah, I'm enjoying the hunt too for the P's & D's. We'll see about the S's, as of now they haven't made more of each design than the 1996-w dime, sold only in mint sets. So what's the 1996-w dime, a $15 to $20 coin in any grade?
I think most of the ATB quarters are stunning, as far as their designs. (Some of them not so much, but what can you do.) They have certainly been more challenging to find in pocket change, but my sons and I are having fun trying to fill our book. Living in Dallas I would have thought that we would get more D quarters than P, but nearly everything I've found so far has been from Denver. It would be interesting to capture distribution statistics as far as what state folks live in and what mint typically seems to service your area...
I live in Washington state and have got all D's except one. I think that these quarters will be more valuable than a state set due to mintages.
In East and Middle Tennessee we get P mints, but in West Tennessee they get D mints serviced out of Memphis.
same with missouri. east of Jefferson city all the money comes from the St Louis FRB and there are P coins/DC notes, and west of Jefferson city all the money comes from the Kansas City FRB, and we get D coins/FW notes.
