Cool man. Did you know these come in both proof and ms? Being both a thai collector and a rhino collector, I have a few of both types. My latest thai pieces are some pod duang coins from Ayuttaya. A seller from Europe had a strong selection for sale on ebay last week.
I have a set of the MS rhino and deer also and we'll be at the Singaport World Coin Fair at the end of March so I am hoping to find a few things there. We'll be in Thailand after that for about a month and I am going to scout out a few coin shops there and be looking for some cool stuff. I have a friend that that has been collecting all the special gold and silver issues for quite a long time and she is going to let me check out her stuff just cause I'd like to see it. She said she'd go with us to the coin shops if I wanted her to. Should be an interesting trip this time.
Sounds like fun. I see authors of Siamese Coins just got their book medal. I think the lead author has a shop in Bangkok. I have some of the modern gold, and maybe 15 modern silver. Not a huge collector of them, but pick them up at times. I like the older stuff more, like Dvaravati and Lanna.
Not offhand, but his name I believe is Ronachai Krisadaolarn. I saw a video with him in his store in Bangkok, I just don't know where its at.
