Indian head cent error?

    Here is a 1908 indian head penny that appears so have some nickel on the back of it. Error?[​IMG][​IMG]

    It's not an error. Ask yourself, why/how would there be nickel on the back of a copper cent?

    From the appearance, I think it was soldered onto something. Try pressing a pin into the metal of the reverse, if it is solder, it will penetrate easily. Also the smooth worn appearance of the obverse looks like wear from being on a cigarette lighter or some such.

    yup, solder. And maybe the old kind with lead in it.
