I have been studying numismatics for a very short time (three years hardcore). I have had an interest in coins for 40 years. Please tell me that my limited knowledge would not make me an idiot, if I passed on this coin for an asking price of $1.00. Clearly a fake, right?
About 5 cents in scrap metal would be my opinion of what it's worth about the same as an empty beer can

Darn! I searched all over e-bay for it too. By the way, my grandson came home with a coin with the same obverse and the reverse had a coin dealer's ad on the back.
I don't know these very well but if that thing had some toning, it would fool a lot of folks. Guess it probably already would.
Here's another real one lower grade the hair detail on the fake is totally wrong add that to its starting to rust!!
