Geeez, as you know, I've kinda spun-off on a tangent trying to complete a lil' project (obtaining a coin from every coin-century)

    600 BC => through to-date!! (yup, that's 27 different & consecutive coin-centuries)

Well, late last night (after a few too many than a few too many) I found the final missing-link to my string o' fun!! .... I needed a coin from 1700-1799 and I think I ended-up finding a pretty cool representative (well, at least I think it's kinda cool)

    GERMAN STATES, Anhalt-Bernburg.
Alexius Friedrich Christian, AR 1/3 Taler

    1796-1834
    1799 HS
    Diameter: ?? mm
    Weight: ?.?? grams
Obverse: Crowned-Bear advancing left on crenellated wall containing arched door below
Reverse: Three-line legend and date; •H•S• (mint-master) below
    Reference: Mann 728a; Jaeger 41b, KM 70
Other: sweet patina toning ... scratch on reverse

Oh, by the way => does anybody have a "World Coin Book" that has the KM numbers for coins?

I need somebody to look-up KM "70" for me (I'd really appreciate the favour) ...

=> yah, I'd love to know the weight & diameter of this baby (yah sadly, I don't have this puppy in-hand, yet) ..... oh, and yes Doug, I do realize that is bad-coin-voodoo (*yikes*)

For the record, my favourite coin-guy (Batman/Dionysos) found the weight of the coin

    => 7.02 grams of (83.3% silver)

Thank you very much, my awesome friend!! (oh, and thanks to everybody else that I asked the same question) ... I love you guys!! (n' gal)

    Cheers

=> man, this good ol' bear coin rocks!!

TIF => yes, apparently my sweet wife has a theme in her head => budgeting-101
    ... *sigh* ...

Yah, I am going to slow-down my break-neck pace a bit in the next lil' while ... but I should still be able to sneak the occasional coin past the ol' goalie?

New themes? => no, not really => I like my no-theme, seemingly random style of coin collecting (it takes me to fun and cool places!!)

... oh look over there, something shiny!! (mmm, shiny)

Budgeting is a good thing. You can't sacrifice important parts of your life for a coin collection. That being said, do as I say, not as I do. :p

    SIDE-NOTE:

Yah, I was justing talking with brother Eng, and I was telling him the following awesome fact:

"Yah, it's hilarious because the Manitoba liquor commision has passed a law that booze can be sold tomorrow at 5am for the big-game!!
... I'll probably watch it in the sack with my gal, "but" the option to go to the bar is available!!
=> odd, eh? (man, Canadians and their hockey!!)"

I would have plumped for a 1797 George III cartwheel penny. A significant coin ...and as you love big old chunks, it weighs 28grammes.
    But.......yours is cool too!

Sweet coin Steve. It doesn't matter what we think though...you gotta please the goalie. Does she know...yet. She will eventually you know, they always find out.

BTW, do you know what the "H.S." below the date stands for. Mintmark maybe?

Detecto => you don't have a diameter, eh? (yah, I guess I'm merely gonna have to wait and measure it myself)

=> thanks for the great effort, my friend!!

That's not a bad idea ... although, I guess this current thread has already high-lighted my coins and everybody else's gems ...

    http://www.cointalk.com/threads/your-favorite-coins-by-century.241481/

=> if I had great computer-skilz, then I would probably try to make a cool thread ... ummm, but *sigh*, you'll probably be waiting a long-time before that actually happens (but thanks for the atta-boy ... I appreciate the hoopla)

    Cheers, my friend
