i'll vote " die deterioration"..

 

I don't think it's a doubled die. Any potential "notches" I see look more like light reflection.

 

theres no light reflection, what you see, is what you get, reminds me of my grandfathers ike dollar

 

If there is no light reflection, my vote would be die deterioration doubling.

 

I think die deterioration and machine. Just take the B for instance. You can see the deterioration around the top of the B and the very shiny "sheering" of the metal around the bottom. You can see the distinctive splits in the letters on the Ike very easily. I don't think this is like the Ike at all. I want to say congrats on the Ike again. I love that coin!

 

this was a coin found in change, thats all. but I am going to my dads to pickup some silver roosevelt dimes, and more ikes, lots of roosevelt dimes, gramps had a lot of them, some silver Kennedy halfs, dad gone for the winter, lucky him lol

 

You're bound to find something good in that batch. Maybe another discovery piece. Good luck!
