More likely, it was "spooned". Random hits while in a dryer would not cause the rim to be so perfectly formed. Chris
I would say a dryer coin due to how the faces have been smoothed as well. These things get caught between the inner and outer tubs of commercial dryers and they tumble in a similar manner to a rock tumbler. This tumbling will spoon the rims and wear away at the devices.
The strong, even wear on both sides was why I said dryer coin. It looks like a copper plated zinc cent and you can see where the copper plating has been removed in places.
