is there anyone out there with the courage to buy this? http://www.ebay.com/itm/RARE-1877-T...89?pt=Coins_US_Individual&hash=item461ac7632d
i dont know man. they have 1 review and right out the gate they are selling a rare, incredible condition coin...with no returns.
Shouldn't he be wearing cotton gloves to handle it? Wow, over 20 bids and this is his first sale on eBay. Not worth the risk with no returns.
I'm not a knowledgeable enough person to know for sure if this is a fake from China or the real thing. It is possible that someone recently joined eBay to sell a rare coin collection. More likely it's a fake and a scam. But, I have not reported it because I don't know for sure.
That is exactly my thought. I know that there is somebody on CT that will clear it up though...unless they are staying silent so fewer people bid!
The coin looks real to me. I am willing to bet that it has altered surfaces though. My guess, is someone cracked it out of a details holder, posted it as a raw, "MS" coin. It does not look like a proof though.
http://offer.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewBids&_trksid=p2047675.l2565&rt=nc&item=301096985389 looking at the feedback numbers on the bidders makes me so confident that this is legit that I have to go all in
I'd hold out until I see him put his fingers all over it some more. Might be a few bidders counting heavily on Buyer Protection and the power of the SNAD claim...
A unslabbed proof from a seller with only one sale . I think I'll pass . I sure wish I knew what types the obverse and reverse proofs were made with . I'd love to hear from Books .
