I have chance to buy some US coins from my coin dealer. But I'm not experinced in US coin series, only in some world coins.

    He offers me:
    Mercury dimes (grades G - VG) - $3 each
    Barber dimes (grades G - VG) - $9 each
Barber half dollars (grades G - VG) - $9 each

I usually don't buy low grade coins, but something in my head say me, it could be good buy. I would like to know which years are good to buy in G - VG. Thanks!

BARBER DIMES SHOULD NOT BE THE SAME PRICE AS THE HALFS

Looking at the list, I'd be inclined to think that the only think worth purchasing would be the Barber Halves.

OK and where can I find a price for each date of this series? I want to check a key dates (in this grades). It's hard to find price on the net without RedBook. Is it possible to send me a scan of this pages?

I bought this two (left $3, right $9). It was the highest grade what coin dealer had (maybe XF and VF). But I found on the net it's quite common. I hope I did a good buy and not overpayed.

  6. If you want to see what they are selling for, just check completed eBay auctions. Common mercs in these grades usually go for $3 or less. I do not follow Barber coinage, but Barber halves at $9 each seems like a good deal to me. TC
