    Gil-galad I AM SPARTACUS

    Flavius Victor AE4.

DN FL VIC-TOR PF AVG - Pearl diademed, draped, and cuirassed bust right

SPES RO-MA-NORVM - Campgates (or beacon tower) with two turrets and six layers

This coin can cost at least $150 up to $600 for better grade coins that I will never be able to afford. I can get this one for $35 but I want to verify it's Flavius Victor for sure. Looks like it to me.

    valentinian-3.jpg

    Valentinian III AE4.

DN VALENTINIANVS PF AVG, bust right

VICTOR-IA AVGG, Victory advancing left. RM mint mark.

    RIC X 2121

The dealer says this one is Valentinian III for sure. I am not 100% certain about it but would like opinions as well.

I have a low budget. Looking for $100 and up coins is not an option.

The first coin does look like Flavius Victor but I'm no expert on this issue. The second I couldn't begin to identify. Good luck.

    chrsmat71 I LIKE TURTLES!

those could be some decent spot fillers if they're ok, i suspect they are...but get the go from an expert.

No way to tell for sure from the photos but if I had to guess, from my observation:

    1. I think I see a G (Mag Max) or C (Fl Victor) at 1o o' clock on the obverse. Can't tell for sure from the photo. I wouldn't feel comfortable paying $35 without knowing for sure who it is.

    2. Same, can't determine who it is from here. The VICTORIA AVGG with P left (I see it on your coin) was struck for Honorius also, and those of him are the more common, so its probably a safe bet that this one is actually Honorius.

With this much uncertainty, neither are worth the prices they are listed for IMO. They are not in the best shape either, especially the Mag Max/Fl Victor. I'd pass on both. A decent for certain Flavius Victor and Val III can each be had for less than $100 (all three of my Val IIIs were less than $30 each). But if you really want them, go for it.

I'd also pass. I believe the Flavius Victor may be correct but it is not a $35 coin. I don't have a V-III. I only have one Flavius. It was $14 in 2013 but it was worth more. Patience provides coins to those who are not in a hurry. Not everyone considers his coins worth more than his father's. His coins are rare in good shape with full legends but there are many scrappy ones out there. Even if you are 95% sure of the ID (what I say this is) I'd rather have a better coin of one of the two shown that the pair as they are.
