    Top 5:

    Peace dollar
    Walking Liberty half
    Standing Liberty quarter
    Mercury dime
    Wheat penny (reverse)

As you can see, the '20s is my favorite era of coins. I'd put the buffalo nickel up there too to complete the '21-'28 set.

Unquestionably the St Gaudens Double Eagle. It is a breathtaking coin, IMHO.

I think there are several wonderful designs...all worth the title "best" US design. I love the $20 St. Gaudens as well as a Pratt Gold Indian design. I also think the Oregon Trail Commemorative is the finest commemorative ever minted.

But, my personal all-time favorite is the Morgan Dollar (call me crazy).

I'm a draped bust guy. Not a fan of old dudes in wigs on my coins.

The peace dollar was my favorite when I joined cointalk but my tastes have changed and I'm too lazy to change my avatar. I was also just getting into coins when I joined so I wasn't exposed to all the coin types yet. Have your favorite coin designs changed since you started collecting?

I'm not mad. Everyone always thinks I'm angry on CT. I was just explaining the situation. I'm surprised your taste hasn't change though.

Picking the best eagle on a coin is TOUGH. I think I would have to go with one of the commemorative halves, probably Texas. Best minor coin would have to be either the 1853 rays and arrows half dollar or the 1864 2 cent piece. If you asked me a month ago and again a month from now, I would likely give you different answers each time.

Oh I wasn't going to judge. I thought you were serious. I was surprised that anyone collects sacs but I wasn't going to judge, ppl can collect what they want. I collect barber dimes and lots of ppl think they are ugly.

Sometimes on message boards it can be difficult to tell if someone is joking or being serious because all we see is words...no expressions or vocal cues to hint at the intention of the comment. It is easy for joking comments to be taken the right way because of this sometimes. The best thing to do...is use a smiley emoticon of some-kind to help show the comment was meant to be taken as a joke. :);)o_O
