I've been collecting for a while and I really like the look of coins. In fact I'd like to have my US circulated nickels set up on the wall in a frame so I can look at them without getting out the folders. I've seen one such holder, frame and glass for the US State quarters - but haven't seen anything similar for other coin sets. I guess I could custom build frames for Dansco pages, but I'm hoping you all have some better ideas. Thanks

I don't know if they'll have a frame for the nickels but Capital Plastics has holders for other series that can easily be framed and wall mounted. I understand that they will do a custom frame for you if they don't carry what you want.

My little brother uses a regular (nice) picture frame, glass, felt, and cardboard... He has several Lg Cents, some stamps, and currency displayed.

Bob2, I understand the impulse, and I feel it myself, but I have learned that if you see something too many times, you don't see it any more. Once the nickel display is on your wall, you will see it every time you come into the room--again and again and again, maybe a hundred times a day--and it will become part of the background, like a light switch or a lamp. You will cease to "see" it as you see it now. (Great art seems to be partially, but not completely, exempt from this effect.)

So, if you don't want to get bored with your nickels, my advice is to keep them put away, out of sight, until those times you are ready to bring them out and enjoy them for a while, then put them away again.--gunsmoke

I have to agree with Gunsmoke. Last weekend I decided to drag out all my old silver dollars, newer bullion coins, old halves, etc. I laid them out on a table in my shop and was doing a little cataloging. A few of my neighbors drifted in and were blown away by it all! I don't think I could get that response otherwise, given none of these people were collectors. I really enjoyed discussing it with all of them.

And as I have mentioned so many times before, something like this depends also on where you live. Where I live, placing a coin collection is plain view to the general population is like putting a sign in your front window saying I have lots of money here, please help yourself. It may not be people that come over but they have a habit of telling someone that tells someone that........ And then with each story the amount of coins grows until you have ten million in coins on the walls. Hopefully your place is full of burglar alarms.
