I have not found this one in my error book although it is a small one. Any thoughts? Thanks

    Nice example of a cud.

A cud occurs when the die first cracks and then breaks. When the die breaks, it cannot apply any pressure to the planchet and as such, the design does not get transferred.

Some folks collect these and will pay a slight premium for them.

    Congrats.

Awesome! I've only found 1. It was the first error coin I found when I started. It was a1983 and I sold in on ebay to get money to buy some Jefferson proofs. I kick myself every single day for that.

Thanks so much! Just searched 3 boxes of pennies over the weekend. This was one of the more interesting. Thanks, I look at cuds-on-coins. Just getting started too and lovin it.

I'd actually call that one a big one. At any rate, it's a big find. Congrats!
