Recent find 1940-S

    Previously posted in whats it worth but pics were just to small. The area on the west rim/leaf appears slightly raised. Here is my best shot at pics.

    Could it be an attached lamination that has raised a little ?

    Jim in my experience, laminations tend to not be that "neat". It has a small arc with both points connected to the rim, and looks almost identical to the one in the above link (just on the left wheat ear instead of the right).

    Nice find. It's as jallengomez said, a retained cud. That's a big cracked area that's still retained on the die, it hasn't yet fallen off.
