This is a new purchase. It's about 50% off center and includes the full date & mint mark. IMHO it has some nice eye appeal. (Is there anyone here that would not like this one in their collection)?

I'm not much of an error collector, but that one is a beauty. Did you get it from a dealer or ?

Nice addition Dan. I hear tell that the off centers with the date and mint mark are more desirable. Sorry we missed you at FUN..........

Yes, I found it in a dealer's inventory. The coin spoke to me & I bought it. :)

Good for you Dan, If I were a collector, that would be a prime prize. I checked with my coin dealer out here in the Mojave desert and they don't even know what a junk box is. I guess they don't have much of an inventory.

This particular coin was not in a bargain bin or junk box. The dealer had it marked with what I thought was a fair price. I have several off center quarters so technically, it is a duplicate. (The coin was just so nice IMO).

Here is a photo depicting a complete off center set of the same date and mint mark.

Wow, that's a super bad set! I've never thought of putting something like that together.

Question, did you have to have to modify that holder, or is there a place that sells them like that?

It is a standard holder from Capital Plastics. The holder has been modified with a dremmel tool. Here is a set of double struck coins in a similar set:

Those dremmel tools are awesome , I have all kinds of different attachments for mine. a person with a good dremmel and a little knowlege could build about anything. those off centers really look good displayed in the case.

Thanks for the coin complement. Do you only collect Kennedy errors or do you also like Franklin Half errors as well? Here is a proof 1961 Franklin with DDR and a 1954-D Franklin with a large obverse cud. Franklin Cud Slab.JPG Franklin1961DDRNGC64ReverseCU.jpg

I have a 1976 Bicentennial off center coin that has the date and the mint mark. It’s soooo unique.

Can't post a picture or make a thread until the person has made 10 posts, although most of the time this happens it's a hit and run.
