    Hello all,

I just wanted to get your opinions on this 1877-S half dollar (not mine) that I saw online. What would it grade at, if the coin is even genuine, and do you think it has been polished?

Thanks so much for any input.

The first photo looked good, but the second two.....yup, polished.

Yeah, I definitely thought the coin looked polished and wasn't very attractive. The sad thing is that its being called an MS-64 Prooflike

    Leadfoot there is no spoon

My first thought was proof because of the mirrored surfaces and very strong obverse strike, then I looked at the reverse and saw the S mint-mark.
Looks like a cleaned/polished coin -- I've seen a few S mint seated halves of this period that are prooflike, but this one doesn't appear to be natural to me....Mike
