Does anyone know what distingushes the Variety 1 and 2 1972 Eisenhower Dollars? I did a search on the 'net and came up empty. If anyone knows or has links to info I would appreciate it. Thanks.

The Variety I shows a flattened world and there are 3 islands off of Florida. The Variety II is a high-relief design with a round world and the islands are weak and indistinct. The first variety die was used for most of the clad coins in 1972. The second variety die was used for all of the silver issues and some scarce Philadelphia issues.

    Mike Locke's variety listings

This is not the best site for this - but it's the only one I can find right now. One of these days - I guess I'm gonna have to get my web site back up
