Still trying to build up my byzantine collection and my latest is a Maurice Tiberius Follis. I was drawn to the patina despite some breaks in it. Maurice Tiberius (582-602 A.D.) Æ Follis O: D N MAVΓI - CN P AUT, bust facing, crown with trefoil ornament, consular robes, mappa in right, eagle tipped scepter in left R: large M between A/N/N/O and X/IIII (regnal year 14), cross above, P below, THEUP' in ex. Those proof Morgans just don't look real they are so gorgeous, simply amazing dollars! I went over to see a gold and silver buyer I get coins from to sell at a flea market and scored eighteen Barber half dollars, many with full rims. The 1912-D grades F-12. The lot for 15x face. Dates are 1899, 1902-S, 1905-S (scratch down side of face and neck), 1906, 1906-O, 1907-o, 1908-D, 1909-S (2), 1910-S (rim dings), 1911-D, 1911-S, 1912-D, 1912-S, 1913-S (2), 1915-S (2). Just two coins with serious problems. The rest have honest wear.
Hugh - stop stop stop I can't take it any more! Those coins (especially the Morgans) are gorgeous! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
These Barbers are flea market inventory. This is the third batch of Barber halves I have bought from there. One lot had more 1890's dates including an 1893-S AG-3. That lot also had the highest graded piece, a F-15 1913-S.
I wanted to hit the like button about 100 times on this post, but they won't allow me. Gorgeous coins!
Yeah, that is a horrible coin to send off to CAC. Why don't you let me have it and you won't have to look at that horrible coin again.
Thanks.... I need to start focusing on couple of sets before I get to scattered. Any suggestions... Im thinking type sets...
My CBH for the type set. One small dig on the reverse that detracts slightly. Not bad for being circulated though. I like the obverse.
Fairly new. It was in an NGC UNC details holder. I liked the look and the price was right. Underneath the horse is a bunch of what appears to be hairline scratches from an old cleaning, but under further review, they are actually raised die polish marks. It made a nice crack out and added to my Commemorative book.
