I found a clashed die 1999P dime yesterday in a circulated roll. Believe it or not I was just looking at the dimes to see if I saw anything unusual based on the picture of the dime posted in this thread, and sure enough there it was. Though it isn't as strong as the clash shown on here it is definitely the forehead that is visible even with the naked eye. I took a picture although my photographic skills are lacking I think you will be able to tell what it is. You can see it from the N through the PL. I wish this dime had been uncirculated it would be easier to see other marks besides this one. I hope the image is good enough for you to see it.
Here is the Flying Eagle I'm sure what she saw or if you can see anything that resembles a die clash but if so point it out please if not no big deal I didn't buy thinking it had one anyway. Also would you care to grade it as best you can with these pics which I know are not the quality most upload on this site. Thanks for looking this is one of my favorite pieces I bought about four years ago for $35 which I thought was a steal your opinions are appreciated.
That's impressive I'm looking for one like that too my poor eyesight could spot that beauty. Do clashed die errors carry a premium or is it just another interesting thing to look for when roll searching? I enjoy the hunt and and the history of the coins I keep saying I'm gonna sell someand buy others but I just em back and buy more LOL
Yeah, they're pretty rare from what I've heard, and carry a premium. A few years ago someone mentioned that they've sold similar ones on eBay for $20 to $30, for example. Edit: A quick search of recently completed listings on eBay only had one similar to my own. It was in much better condition and sold for $12.50. That said, mine has a much deeper strike compared to that one, and that also affects it's value.
I'm not sure if this is the best forum for posting a clashed die 1967 Guyana 1 cent coin, so if this isn't the best location please advise. This coin appears to be clashed with the die of the reverse of this same coin. This coin was in a mint set of the first year for new types from Guyana that I purchased, a nice surprise.
