in any 2 oz 99.999% silver coin with silver privy weight is 62.270 grams so do the math-some guys thought it was just gold colored but did not research these valuable coins containing half a gram of pure gold each!!! Some going on Ebay for $85-$90 Australian -Cheap for US $$ with 14% premium to Aussie $$.
How much is 2 ounces of Silver and half a gram of pure Gold Worth??

you need 62 to make an oz of gold so-
    62*85=5270 total investment
    62*20.34 (current spot) = $2522.18
    1297.30 gold spot
    1297.30+2522.18=3819.46
    5270-3819.46
    $1450.54 loss

    How's my math

Your math is great...but good luck buying coins with a mintage of 1500 for spot. You can't even buy 40.000.000 mintage eagles for spot.

Thats why I used 85 instead of 95 as of now its a .11¢ difference

Just as a side note I think you forgot to include that each coin has 2 oz of silver so the spot price regarding that should be doubled leading to a much less severe loss

  9. Good luck finding these in the US for under $100. Most that I have seen sell for between $100-$150. Most dealers are in Australia, so even if they sell for less than $100, the total cost will be well over $100 once they are shipped to the US.

A mintage of 1500 is only low if there are more than 1500 people who want one. If only 500 people want one, there are way too many right?

Way too many collectors concentrate on mintages. What is a low mintage for an extremely popular US coin is a horribly excessive mintage for the rest of the world. Even in US terms mintages are very relative. I have half dollars from the 1880's with mintages less than 10,000 that sell for not much.

Supply and DEMAND are what makes prices go up, not just supply.

Not saying its not a nice coin, and I glad you like them. I am just saying "mintage of only X" NEVER guarantees scarcity or desirability absent demand information. :)

I have personally purchased many coins with a mintage of less than 100 for spot, or less than spot. I even got one with a mintage of 35 for spot.

    It can be done.

absolutely crazy about my kookas ive got 13 now incl almost 3 sets (less one certificate) i like the idea that Perth Mint are no longer issuing 2 ounce Silver coins with Gold Privy inserts in them. it enhances their Rarity and given they were distributed worldwide with 1000 and 1500 mintages they will be quite rare indeed in nxt few years...i also did research into silver and jp morgan now hold more silver than ever held before in history of mankind...the bunker hunts knew what this could do to silver -watch this space $100 an ounce. Get yourself a few Kilos!!

If there was , the price wouldn't be in that range. Sure people on here and other bullion sites say so, but some of them are talking about buying 10 ounces or less, and that won't cause the market to quiver. Enthusiasm is often mistaken for knowledge.

Usually low mintage is associated with high premiums, but not always.

I would like to see or hear about what coins with such low mintage (<100) you were able to purchase for spot.

I am sure though if you search the 5ook "coins and paper money" listings on ebay, chances are you won't find any. Or if you do, it'll most likely be someone selling something he/she has no idea about.
