Error or not? (USA Lincoln cent 1984)

    It appears to be a massive cud. If so, the reason that so much detail is lost on the obverse is because the metal flowed into the die break, and there was not enough left to fill the obverse recesses.

    one big giant reverse cud.

    Obverse I like that because they was no die on the opposite side to force the metal into the obv die.

    Very nice find.

    I am sure that the die was retired VERY shortly after that was struck.

    If you don't mind me asking, how much did you pay? Reason I ask is I did a search on ebay last night. 1984's with MUCH smaller CUDs were selling over $30. You might have gotten a steal of a deal.
