That I don't have? easy the 1901 S Barber Quarter!!!!!!!!!!! I missed one, actually blew it a couple of years ago, and now I may never own one. But, it was my own stupidity.
Barber: Why not do what I have done, I started with lower grades and gradually, as they became available, upgraded. At least that way you will not get frustrated. Heck, I have a 1914 P half in XF, got it in August 1999 and have never seen another one. Also, in December I finally got an 1897 O half in XF to replace a VG. Both original coins have appreciated in value, and I didn't lose anything by getting them. My 1897 O in Good I got in December, 2000, I paid $43 for it, and now it trends for $175. The 1914 P in good cost me $33 and now trends for $140. I won both ways, I had a nice hole filler until I got a better piece, and made a profit on the other. Think about it. I have done the same with both the quarters and dimes.
Well i'd love some gold coins, but right now i really want a 1932-D or 1932-S washington quarter. I'm gonna leave those two for last for my 32-64 washington collection
If this thread were in CoinChat I'd mention the deep scale variety, 1867 silver Japanese 5 sen listed as Y#1 in Krause. But, since this is the US Coin forum, I guess I'll have to say that I'd dearly love to find a sixth 1913 Liberty nickle.
Treashunt, Thanks for the encouragement. There's a 1905-s 25c on Ebay I plan to bid on. That's a tough date. Barbercoin
Go for it, I got a VF in 1996, and haven't found a better one since. Plenty of lower grades, but none better.
Woulda, coulda, shoulda. 1945-P Dime PCGS MS-65 FSB. Had a chance at one back in '88 for $1500, but as a busted flat college student I was only $1499 short of being able to pick it up. I don't know what it would take now, but I bet it's North of 7 grand? Or more? Tough coin in FB. Rick L.
Mine would have to be the legendary 1916-D Mercury dime in BU. I get weak just thinking about it.--gunsmoke
