Got these 2 back clean and clear too f-12 on the 78-s and xf-45 on the 73 I will buy raw trades if I can examine in hand but not reccomended for anyone that don't know them real well
Those are very nice I'm eventually going to get a trade dollar but it will be graded i assure you as I don't know enough to buy one raw and wouldn't chance it I think they are great history pieces, but I feel that way about most obsolete coins.
They in my opinion rank in the top 5 of most beautiful us coins of all time I've been a fan since day one and studied them a lot it took buying a few slabbed and studying a lot of fakes to make me confident that and holding in hand and knowing often where the coins I buy raw come from (old New England estates) help a lot on making me confident to buy raw I will say at least the first half dozen trades I bought were all slabbed and all from reliable sources (not ebay!!)
Coin Porn indeed!! It's a shame not to be able to hold the coins raw, but I understand the need to keep them in holders.
Bill, Those are 2 awesome coins. To be able to find them the way you did is very cool. The 1806 Flowing Hair is a beauty.
MS-60 at least MD11! At times I wonder if the 2 top Tpg grading lineup has their eye open.while grading Pcgs or Ngc is ether Dead on or Way off grade wise. and all the others too
Just arrived in the mail. 1883 n/c pcgs ms64 ogh. she sure is a beauty in hand and finishes off my current type set. enjoy!
Two NGC registry quality SMS Sac dollars---2005 P and D . Both are finest (MS 69) and have pretty low population. Added them to my collection of Satin Finish Sac dollars:
Got this dime today and it is going into this holder with the 1859 half dime, 1857-O quarter, and 1846 dollar already installed. Not the best picture but it works. This is the raw portion of my Liberty Seated type collection.
Nice!!! 1883 seated dime Ed. But that old holder vintage Dansco is a hard one to find in that good of shape.
This holder was made by Capital Plastics. Most of my Capital Plastics holders are NOS or slightly used that I get off of eBay at far lower prices than the online discount coin suppliers. Sometimes a local coin shop will buy a coin collection that the collector had some of his/her coins in a Capital holder and you can buy it after it has been emptied at a reduced price. This particular holder #CP-429 has a suggested retail price of $31.65 from Capital Plastics and can be had for as low as $23.40 plus shipping through any online discount coin supply store. I think I paid less than $15.00 for it and it was NOS. Capital Plastics makes a variety of type set holders from single denomination types, series types, and period types. All of which you can find on eBay for greatly reduced prices if you long enough.
I just had to have it. Medallic rotation plus vibrant colors. The pics don't do it justice. I don't collect these so I don't know much about them, but I personally think that this is a tad undergraded. The medallic rotation was common for this year.
