The sad irony in all this is that here we are doing the police work what the zillionaires from Ebay are supposed to be paid to do. We uncover their aliases , we see and report their fraud , we are like CSI EBAY , yet the *******s ( pardon my French ) have the nerve to ban one of the good customers they have because he told the truth.
Zane, Maybe you have some sort of Legal recourse that you can take! I know there are several Lawyers that are members of Coin Talk and maybe they can offer some insight or advice. Since you bid on and won items which is considered as a binding Contract between you (the Buyer) and the Seller, then eBay has interfered with that Contract. Yes, they are the means to the Contract (buying and selling) but if there was no fraud in the Contract, then they should not be able to interfere. If they NARU you, they should still have to make an avenue where you (the Buyer) and the Seller can complete your contractual obligations. I know that I am not totally Law savy but I believe that it is worth looking into!
Say goodby to the Bad doctor. http://coinscams.entryhost.com/images/evil2.gif it was about time.. Now lets get the SGS boys.
CoinScams, the people at www.coinaf.org will be pleased. They've been trying to get eBay to take action for a very long time. Aidan.
I really don't know how they got through though, as ebay makes it difficult to actually contact them (aside from submitting auction numbers) about sellers. I posted a while back about a seller buying Chinese arrowheads and them selling them as authentic, and it's so obvious that all one would have to do is look at what they bought, and what they were trying to sell and the username should (at least) be nar'd instantly. I've reported it, told bidders, etc., and yet... they are still there doing the same thing. Every time I see those "it" commercials, I think they should include some shots of criminals and scammers, some fake itmes, etc., as you can find that too.
Well Done Big Z!!! (If your the fellow who got it done that is. If not then you should have been ) Take Care Ben
Zane, If you can get onto ebay with a friends Ebay account search using the advanced search buttion for Bidder, enter your Ebay ID and you can see the items you bid on. Be sure to click Past items from 30 days. Hate to hear Ebay is not allowing you back on, but good for you. I was tempted to do the same.
Estate Doctor has new eBay ID I believe that Estate Doctor (aka Pamela J. Donnelly, et all) has resumed "business as usual" as jeffsfamilyjunk. I have been educating novice scrimshaw collectors about the resin replicas sold as authentic, first by PJD1966, then EstateDoctor, and now Jeffs Family Junk, all of Savannah GA. It took eBay more than two years to NARU Estate Doctor. I bet it will take that long again. Douglass (see my eBay ME page)
P.S. Note that JeffsFamilyJunk activated on eBay EXACTLY when EstateDoctor was NARU'd. I am sure he (or she) has more aliases waiting in the wings. Douglass
It seems very likely that it is Estate Doctor again. Looks like there are no coins listed as of right now......maybe we caused too much trouble for her in the coin business.
i doubt it.. as long as they sell the items listed, they wont care. its the money they want,. sad, but true
If it can be proved that it is Pamela, then we should put a posting on www.ripoffreport.com & send in a report to www.coinaf.org . Aidan.
Jon,you have got to have proof, before eBay can take action. MorganFred has been tipped off as well,as he is involved with C.O.I.N.A.F. Aidan.
Hey I reported (4 times) a fake seated dollar that ended this weekend, it wasn't even minted in that year, and they (eBay) did nothing. Ya gotta have heavy duty proof. They are not in business to lose money.
you've got to be kidding. If she is using the same mailing address as her last aliases, it should be quite easy to prove. Just buy something, besides according to ebays liability policy: "You will not hold eBay responsible for other users' actions or inactions, including things they post. You acknowledge that we are not a traditional auctioneer. Instead, the Sites are a venue to allow anyone to offer, sell, and buy just about anything, at anytime, from anywhere, in a variety of pricing formats and venues, such as stores, fixed price formats and auction-style formats. We are not involved in the actual transaction between buyers and sellers. We have no control over and do not guarantee the quality, safety or legality of items advertised, the truth or accuracy of listings, the ability of sellers to sell items, the ability of buyers to pay for items, or that a buyer or seller will actually complete a transaction."
