Well I went online to get a new ANA number. Since my old number was a YN account, I decided to get an adult one. So it issued me a new number and password. Thing is, when I go to "member dues", it says "The user does not have dues to renew". The new number is different than my old one.
If you did not pay when you got the new number, they are giving you credit for the dues you paid before. They will send you an email when you have any dues due.
No. That's why I said it was odd. All it did was email me a username (my number), and a password. When I click on join/renew, it says all dues are current.
Can you get into member services? If so, wait & see if they bill you. If they don't renew it in year.
The last time I signed up, it went to a billing page and I put my CC# in. This time it did not. So I guess I will wait and see.
Hmm... how did you have a CC as a YN? Isn't that fraudulent at some level? I mean, either you weren't a YN (18 and over), or you weren't an adult (under-18), which would preclude you from having your own CC#. If you got a new membership number off an expired account, I would contact them and tell them you owe them money. If you also had applied for a YN account as an adult, I would also tell them you owe them money for the difference in dues for the time you had the YN account.
In Tims defense (and everyone else under 18 or 21 or whatever) a CC can be the debit card that is linked to a checking account and simply used as a CC for all intents and purposes on the outside, but the CC and Bank know it is really just a debit card, because you do not have any credit outside of what is in your account or what they let you go over for (so they can charge you $$$ each time). Or they can, with parents permission, use the parental CC.
Ding, ding, ding. I still remember the thread he made saying he got the YN account while being overage, its cheaper afterall. http://www.cointalk.com/threads/how-does-one-get-an-ana-number.215593/page-2#post-1552748
If I remember right, he got a YN account as an adult. Don't get on his case though...he already bore that scorn in an old thread.
Oh, how nice of you to "decide" to get a big boy number. Also, and now that I think about it, didn't you once tell us that you were going to contact the ANA to correct the (ahem) "mistake" and offer to pay the difference? With all due respect, Kasia... in this case, Tim needs nor deserves any defense. In his own words...
They give free accounts or trial accounts that let you access parts of the website and access to a digital version of their publication for free - and it gives an ANA number. Perhaps you have the free account?
