I would agree if all those "bumps and bubbles" were the result of the manufacturing process, but I'm not 100% convinced they're not just deposits of some sort. However, I'm not as versed in the series as others, and I do respect Numismat's opinion. Maybe someone else will chime in.

Everyone is entitled to their opinion. I think it's legit with some sort of oxidation on the surface. If I could sell fake coins on Ebay and still have 100% feedback with 1536 transactions I'd be millionaire!

It's in an old 2x2 and that's PVC residue...

    definitely a genuine coin tho.

That's my belief... at first glance what may be confused for casting bubbles is merely residue.

I really don't think this is fake, the reverse looks perfectly normal. I think the crap on the obverse is something on the inside of the weird homemade coin holder, not a part of the coin.

Hmm, you learn something new everyday. I'm personally not familiar with this series or US coins in general, but the bubbles looked like the result of casting to me.
    Thanks Matt.

That's the first thread I've seen where the OP is told that the coin in question is NOT a fake :)
