Correct me if i am wrong, but it seems to me that a NGC 70 is a PCGS 69. At least price wise. A PCGS 70 is way more than a NGC 70. So is it a waste of money to get NGC coins? OR just know everyone else will grade it lower? Sorry, if this is a dumb question. Just new to coins.

IMHO, it's a waste of money to get anything graded MS70 (be it from NGC, PCGS, ANACS, etc.) as the MS69 coin will be every bit the same, but without the high price tag. That's my general advice without seeing the coin or knowing anything about which coin you are considering.

And all the others too. The same coin can usually be found raw and can normally be purchased for less money.

For what ever reason, NGC certifies far more MS-70's than PCGS, so the PCGS ones go for a lot more money.
Supposedly because they are of a higher quality!?!

Did you read the thread where PCGS answered a question on why they don't grade them 70?....because the coin might change and then they would have to buy them back....so its not that they DON'T see more or as many 70's as NGC...they just won't grade them.
I for one don't collect newer coins so I don't have this problem---when I was collecting newer coins I never would agree that there was a grade such as 70.....now I can agree that there is such a grade....that is if you grade like the Pro's....and grade a coin with the un-aided eye...or maybe a 5x...then yes I can see how you can find 70's...
