Post a Toned Coin

Anyone notice that Royal Mint coins tend to tone in near opalescent colors? I'm wondering if their planchets are treated with something different than US ones.

I love the sunset orange on the 09 Horiz S. Reminds me of a deep red sunset or burnt sugar on top of a creme brulee. Awesome photos by Robec.

Very unique toning pattern I must say. How did the rest of the set tone?

 

The nickel is gold/purple, but i don't collect those. Everything else was pretty fugly.

 

I'm sure you've more than likely seen this one but it so freaking nice I like to show it off....

I'm not a big fan of this type of color on nickels but the quality of the coin itself is awesome. Super sharp details and virtually mark free, very nice indeed.

So I was able to get some good training from GBroke today and with his help I managed to get some great shots. Of course there is still much more to learn I would still like to give him a shout out and say thank you for your time and dedication, you have made me a better imager today with your help. Here is an image of a before and after ( the top image is the after shot). Of course the after was compiled by Gman but soon enough I will get those lessons. Agan thanks bud.
