Anyone notice that Royal Mint coins tend to tone in near opalescent colors? I'm wondering if their planchets are treated with something different than US ones.
I love the sunset orange on the 09 Horiz S. Reminds me of a deep red sunset or burnt sugar on top of a creme brulee. Awesome photos by Robec.
I'm not a big fan of this type of color on nickels but the quality of the coin itself is awesome. Super sharp details and virtually mark free, very nice indeed.
Wow, some beautiful toners in this thread lately! I've been off the grid for a little while, but that doesn't mean I haven't picked up some toners. Here are a few highlights. Swiss I believe..correct me if I'm wrong. Couple Washies I was able to pick up another group of killer toned modern Jeffs. Some wheaties: Two little Indians
So I was able to get some good training from GBroke today and with his help I managed to get some great shots. Of course there is still much more to learn I would still like to give him a shout out and say thank you for your time and dedication, you have made me a better imager today with your help. Here is an image of a before and after ( the top image is the after shot). Of course the after was compiled by Gman but soon enough I will get those lessons. Agan thanks bud.
I just watched you morph into a stunning coin photographer in the matter of an hour. They grow up so fast... );
