Well i have been adding coins a lot over the past year i try to usually buy slabbed coins but sometimes get raw coins as i have went, i spent a lot of money so i have been taking a break from coin buying lately but i have a bunch of coins to have slabbed but i don't really have the money to make a submission i was wondering if anybody would be willing to make a submission with a couple of my coins in it, i could send a little money or some silver coins for your trouble but can't really pay for all the costs !!! or i can pay you a little at a time i am talking mabye sending in between 1-3 coins to have slabbed really either ngc or pcgs is good i have coins from all types of submissions and would really like to test it anybody who can help shoot me a message or comment on here about what the submission is and if you can do me a favor and what you would like in return !!
i don't mind weather it is a dealer or just a guy who send in coins, i live in KIngston New York area i would mail somebody the coins though so they could be sent out !!
Are you asking about a simple piggyback, or looking for someone willing pay for your submission fees out of their own pocket and then accept payments?
It sounds like you want someone to float you the submission costs + insurance + shipping two ways, for a small down payment? Like layaway slabbing? Why not save up and submit at a later time?
Depends on the cost i just know i don't have enough to submit the 10- 20 coins for a whole submission !!
i don't really know how to get involved in a slabbing i will make a trade or give money to somebody who helps i just don't know how much it costs for one or 2 coins to be done !!
I would estimate around $35 per coin, once you factor in shipping and insurance two ways, plus grading fees, etc. Usually better to ship in 10+ at once, than 1-3
ask your LCS. they will pool submission. they usually divide the total cost amongst the submitters. It takes over a month to get them back, so you will have time to get the money together
I have the basic $39 per year membership with NGC. The economy tier is $17 per coin (5 coin minimum) plus postage & ins. So it is best to batch similar coins in the same tier for your submissions.
will you be making a submission any time soon ?? 17 does not sound all that bad i wouldn't mind having 2 coins done at that price ??
plus postage and shipping averages about 25.00 a coin. I am putting together a lot of 20. I have 12 coins so far. It wont be for another month or so. It takes about 6 to 8 weeks to get them graded and sent back
What tier ? And like what are the coin requirement for the tier you are sending in for i know thier are a huge amount of options when it comes to sending them in and restrictions and such, I could float at 50 bucks for 2 !
economy. it seems to take forever but its the cheapest.. I submit through my dealer and he takes the invoice and divides it by the number of coins. 20 coins submitted averages 25 a coin
For those asking if someone can send some coins in with theirs, remember that you have to pay postage +insurance to get to the sender, postage and insurance ( registered mail) to the TPG, registered mail and insurance from TPG to sender, and postage insurance from sender back to you. ( 4 postage/insurance trips) The sender has to realize ( unless they are very good friends with the person they are helping) that they may face accusations of switching coins, trying to clean a coin unasked, or even damaging the coin while in their possession.
I don’t want to rain on anybody’s parade but what coins do you want to get graded (ie. Morgan dollars, Buffalo nickels, world coins or modern US coinage from 1965 – date)? Are the coins worth the grading fee(s)? Some coins are not unless you have a reason for it, to me unless the coin has a value of at least $150 why pay a grading fee? If either NGC or PCGS is acceptable to you, an ANA membership gets you submitting privileges to NGC. Do you have any local shows in your area that you can attend? If so, ask a few dealers if the coins are worth submitting (I mean a 1921 Morgan dollar in VF condition probably isn’t worth the grading fees). I just sent in a submission of 28 Kennedy half dollars to PCGS and besides the grading fee of $16 each, I had to include the $8 application fee and $33.70 for return postage. The $8 application fee and $33.70 for return postage I figure can be divided over the 28 coins for an average of about $1.50 per coin. I cost around $28 to mail the package to PCGS insured/ registered so that will add another $1.00 to the average cost per coin. When it is all said and done, to get these 28 coins graded and returned will cost me $18.50 per coin from PCGS.
