What is a good low-cost graded coin?

I don't have any graded coins in my collection and I've decided I want one. I don't really care what it is, as long as it isn't the current nickel. What is a cheap coin that has been graded? What about a low-cost MS 70?

If you're just looking for an example of a graded coin you can often pick up slabs on Ebay for under $10 which is less than the price of having it graded.

Go to ebay and type in (PCGS,NGC) into the search box when you get to the coins section and then customize the listings to show BIN offers from lowest to highest price. You should have quite a few choices that will cost at or less than the price to certify the coin.

What do you consider a "low cost" for an MS70. Honestly, I don't think you'll find too many MS70 coins for cheap. PF70, maybe, but not MS.

I feel like there should be a rule that if a bottom-tier grading company puts a coin in an MS70/PF70 holder, the grade should be handwritten in crayon so ordinary people know it's not really anywhere close to a 70.

What Tom said is exactly what I would suggest. Why take our opinions of what is the best coin for YOU. Just filter the eBay results and search til your hearts content. There will be thousands to choose from, depending on what you mean by "low-cost".

Here is a search for 69 and 70.

I ended up buying a 1958 NGC PF67 proof nickel from a member of this board. Thanks for all of your help.
