I think it's been mecanically whizzed after looking more. Some details are flat, and the luster doesn't look natural, but I've definitely been wrong many, many times before.

You know even if it has been whizzed, or whatever, it's a hell of a nice coin.

Worse than wizzed. I'd say it's a counterfeit.

My standard disclaimer-"I'm no expert" But in my humble opinion, Cloudsweeper is right.

I don't know much about coins but it looks like a fake to me. Some things just do not look right. I look at it and see big red flags. Not to mention 13 negs and 17 withdraws.

I recommend paying very close attention to this, including the Neutrals.

It is not right, it looks like the surfice is porus, the detals seems off, it may be a casted fake. or an very harshley treated real coin.

That is alot of negative and neutral. What exactly does it mean when seller and buyer agrre to remove feedback?

Ebay allows withdrawal by mutual agreement. It doesn't remove the neg, but it is no longer counted in computing the score. Generally it means the dishonest seller paid the buyer a big enough settlement to get him/her to agree on removal.

All his coins (various years and varieties) must have all come from the same roll, as... they all look the same. Pity as some of the coins look like they were once decent but they're all cleaned to the point of ugly.

    That thing is hideous.

whizzed, but I don't see it as a fake.
What do you all see to question it?

Not saying it is but when you look at these two side by side there seem to be some minor differences just looking at the obverse:

Star Position relitive to edge and left lower to Bust
Hair is close but details seem slightly different
The shadow or mark between her chin and stars
    Texture of the coin
    The curl on the 2

Because of the way it looks I'd be afraid to buy it.

I also don't think the coin is fake---the detail is kindof lost by what could be whizzed or it could be a weak strike and then dipped to death....

Took a collection of dates from the same type coin to compare. It is interesting to see the minor differences that exist between the different dies that were used. The two I posted earlier do not appear to be from the same die but doesn't mean that the ebay coin is a fake.

Good practice to look at a lot of coins to compare to coins you might purchase.

    Thanks

I can't believe no one has mentioned this - look at the ( for lack of a better word ) wrinkle in the surface of the coin. Have you ever seen a genuine coin with a surface like that ?
