Does this look like an error that would bring an extra value to it?

I'm afraid to say that this is PMD.

That's unfortunate. I need to buy a book on this stuff.

That's easy, get yourself a cherrypicker's guide. There are actually quite a few varieties from RPMs to Doubled Dies in this series.

Actually, a book would not tell you this as most damage that occurs to coins is readily determined once you look at enough coins.

Go to the bank and buy a bunch of rolls and look at each coin. You'll see a lot of this type of thing.

The ONLY thing that is really helpful from a book would be in understanding the "minting process" from both a basic and advanced position. Once this is understood, you'd then understand that nothing within that process could have possibly caused this to the coin. As such, its Post Minting Damage PMD).

Before buying the CPG, I would invest in the Red Book.

Do you think that's a good place to start for a beginner? I started looking at my foreign/strange coins I've held on to over the years a few days ago bc I could use the extra $ right now, but I really think this could be a fun hobby. :)
