might I sugest you take the pics send it to coppercoins.com then submit it for certification via pcgs or Ngc...cause its not listed on either coppercoins or any other site...
Yes it's a no then? What about the doubling on ONE, and the memorial on the reverse. Same deal? That doubling at least add width to the elements. I'm still a happy owner. I love the color, die state, especially the 6 of the date, just crazy. Thanks for your help.
I have a question. The mint mark is not doubled or smeared at all. Does that mean they struck the mm on the die after the deterioration doubling? I have read that a sign of MD is when the mm is doubled or distorted as well. Why would liberty, the date, and lower bust all be doubled but the mm is as intact?
A sign of MD *can* be if the mint mark is showing the same MD if it was a pre-1990 cent. This is because the mint marks were punched into the dies and therefor any doubled die would not effect the mint mark. This does not mean that a lack of MD or deterioration on the mint mark means that it's a doubled die. The date in general is usually much more prone to showing deterioration than the mint mark, and it's not uncommon at all to find only the date(or sometimes only the mint mark) showing MD.
