I think you aren't giving yourself enough credit. Actually, Roger (aka RWB) is a very nice guy, and he has on more than one occasion asked for member input for his published works.

On the other hand, you might have a great idea going on here. If you could produce these for most of the other types, you might be able to come up with a handy flip-chart reference.

I agree it would be handy for a morgan key date list and condition rarity list but really you can get this information from greysheets or even better if you read the red book morgan dollar series. Now like others have said a neat pocket size for most popular u.s coins would be fantastic so you wouldnt seem like such a newbie pulling out that big redbook.

Exactly why it would be handy say I'm at an estate auction and there's a couple good trades which I know cold and a great looking barber coin which I don't know well I can pull out the reference and figure out whether it's worth pursuing or not

Just had a situation a general quick reference would have been handy was a large lot of assorted capped bust seated liberty and barber coins many in fairly high circulated grades (vf-au) and there was 30+ pieces and I didn't have a lot of time to figure it just did a rough mental tabulation plus I usually buy anything I want at this auction (including coins) but when someone ran me to nearly 2k on it I wishedid figured it closer (I do the figuring in $20 $50 and $100 bills as in this coin is a $$50 this is a $100 etc

I downloaded it earlier. Would it be okay to post here or should I wait for an okay from the OP?

Link is now dead, bummer. You had a good build up, I was excited to see it. I guess I'm not cool enough?

Hey guys, I'm sorry -- I did pull it for a reason, then the internet at the shop went down, and I just got home from work and managed to have some dinner. Not only am I going to change the 1928 issue, but also it turns out my sister (a lawyer) basically said I should remove it immediately until I look into copyright stuff (something else I hadn't considered, I really just thought I was making a little chart) just in case I do decide to try to get it published in a little pocket book form, or something like that! And again, I just had a spare moment to sit down and google a little; I think I'm covered through. Right off the government's website, it says you're technically protected from the moment it is created. Going to look a little more just in case. Even if I do just have them on my site and don't try to get crazy and get it published, I would definitely like to ensure that I keep some control over it should it actually be as big a thing as you guys make it seem like it could be!

Well she freaked me out! I only thought to slap a watermark on it before throwing it up, and then she went off being all lawer-y. Turns out it's protected as is; from the moment I put it up, it's technically covered. Anyhoo.I do want to change the 28 line ... and I've lost track now, but whoever was talking about the terminology scale, it does go common --> slightly better --> better --> scarce --> rare, with the occasional "ultra rare" thrown in. :)
